Men’s Tennis Defeats Richmond Spiders, 4-1

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Senior Sam Kavarana clinched a 4-1 victory for the Davidson men’s tennis team on Sunday against Atlantic 10 foe, Richmond.

“This was a great win for the guys,” said Head Coach Drew Barrett. “I’m really happy to see our seniors step up today. It was also great to see the results reflect the hard work our guys have been putting in.”

The Wildcats captured the doubles point with strong play from top duo Alejandro Solares and Udday Singh (6-2), while a win at court two from Maxwell Kachkarov and William Clark (6-1) helped the ‘Cats secure the first point of the day.

Kachkarov found success on the singles side as well, picking up a two-set win at No. 3, 6-2, 6-3. Seniors Kavarana and Brooks Green closed out the successful day for the Wildcats, earning solo victories at courts five and six, respectively. Green earned a 6-4, 6-1 decision to put Davidson within striking distance, while Kavarana sealed the deal with a 6-4, 6-2 win.
