Davidson Community Foundation Elects Three New Board Advisors
The Davidson Community Foundation has elected three new members to its Board of Advisors. The foundation selected Bob Boyd, Boris Henderson and Jim Merrifield based on their work experience and community involvement.
Bob Boyd dedicated his professional life to building successful companies and developing inclusive corporate cultures as an advisor to private equity funds and organizations. A Davidson College alum whose wife, Maurya, is a faculty member, Boyd has deep roots in the community. Their two sons also graduated from Davidson College.
Currently a doctorate student at the Hood Theological Seminary and chief strategy officer for Aldersgate Life Plan Service, Boris Henderson is also a Davidson College alum. His extensive community service includes Johnston YMCA board member, past chair of Habitat for Humanity Charlotte Region and board director for Habitat for Humanity International.
A managing partner with MPV Properties, a Charlotte commercial real estate firm, Jim Merrifield and his wife, Ingrid, moved to Davidson in 1996 to raise their family. Since then, he has served the community in leadership roles at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, in youth sports and in scouting. Although not a Wildcat alum, Merrifield holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
