Men’s Golf Ready for A-10 Tournament
DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson, which has won two of the last three Atlantic 10 Men’s Golf Championships, heads to Orlando, Fla., this weekend in hopes of defending its title from a year ago.
The three-day/54-hole event will be played on the 7,186-yard, Par 72 Reunion Golf Club Nicklaus layout in Kissimmee, Fla.
A year ago, the Wildcats trailed by 11 strokes after day one of competition before playing the weekend in 13-under as a team to finish nine shots clear of Dayton and capture their seventh conference crown in school history.
Davidson will be paired with George Mason and Saint Joseph’s in the opening round with tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m. off the first and 10th tee.
Live scoring will be available each day on GolfStat.com.
Under the direction of three-time A-10 Coach of the Year Tim Straub, Davidson enters the postseason with a team title (Grandover Collegiate), four Top-5 finishes and a 290.15 stroke average.
In six Atlantic 10 Championship appearances, the Wildcats have captured two titles (2018, 2021), a runner-up and third-place showing, while recording an average finish of 3.6.
Davidson’s starting lineup will feature seniors Viraj Garewal and Clayton Tribus, sophomores Alex Heffner and Ethan Hall and freshman Will Davis.
Through nine events and 26 rounds this season, Heffner leads the Wildcats with a 71.53 stroke average.
