Access 2 Success: Soulful Supper and Other News

by | May 10, 2022

Access to Success is looking for sponsors for its annual Soulful Supper fundraiser later this year! If you’re interested, visit this link to view available packages and learn more about the event.

This year’s Soulful Supper fundraising event is on October 8th, 2022, at Vail Commons on Davidson College’s campus. A2S is so excited to celebrate the opening of their Youth Center in Nigeria with their U.S. family at this event. It is even more special to be able to host the community in the place where it all started- Davidson College. To receive updates on ticket sales, silent auction items, and more, register here.

David is an A2S After School Academy Kid. Before enrolling at the academy, David and his siblings did not know where their next meal would come from. His mother struggled to make ends meet- and sometimes his family would sleep on the streets because they couldn’t make rent. A2S was able to step in for David and allow him to chase his dreams of becoming a footballer. You can watch this video to hear David tell his story.

At the A2S After School Academy, 240 children receive a hot meal each day as well as tutoring support and access to extracurricular activities. For the children served by A2S, this is often the only meal they eat in a day. Providing a safe environment to spend time learning and nourishing their bodies after school is so important. In doing so, A2S is raising a generation of Nigerian children that will create lasting change in their community. This is just one way that A2S works to break the cycle of poverty.

For the month of May, A2S will be preparing to send a team to Nigeria to support the opening of the Youth Center and A2S’s summer programs. To provide the opportunity for a child to attend Basketball Camp or Vacation Bible School, you can make a gift here.
