About Continuing the Mission
Established in March of 2016, Continuing the Mission (CTM) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing fully trained Assistance Dogs at no cost to qualifying Veterans. We have established a birth-to-placement model that immerses our dogs in continuous social and functional activities starting at 8-10 weeks of age.
Our immersion model ensures that our dogs are continuously in a social setting, being exposed to as many different aspects of life as possible. We also look for opportunities for our dogs to give back throughout their two-year training period by participating in numerous events that support CTM Veterans and the larger Veteran community in North Carolina.
Continuing the Mission is operated by a team of dedicated volunteers who make our partnership with a purpose successful.
About the photographer
Emiko Mizumoto of Studio Emiko Photography in Fort Mill, SC was named a Bronze Medalist during the Professional Photographers of Americans 2021 International Photographic Competition.
A panel of 37 eminent jurors from across the United States selected the top photographers from over 5000 total submitted entries at PPA headquarters in Atlanta.
Mizumoto was named a Bronze Medalist by earning a merit – a mark of quality and honor – for each of the four images included in their entry case to the International Photographic Competition. This is the most prestigious competition, where images are judged based on a standard of artistic excellence, not against each other. In 2021, they were one of only 62 Bronze Medalists.
Mizumoto was born and raised in Hiroshima, Japan. She came to the United States in 1999. She started a photography business in 2016.
