Are you ready to have some fun? Come out and support access to mental health in the Lake Norman area and have some fun while doing it!
Two great opportunities to come out and have fun! First, a timed 10K/5K run/walk, and second a color fun run for all ages! Feeling strong and want to participate in both? Excellent! The events are staggered so runners can complete the 10K/5K and join in the fun of the color fun run.
- 10K/5K – Start time 8:00 a.m.
- Color fun run– Start time 9:30 a.m.
Please register for the combined event if you want to participate in both. Families young and old are welcome and encouraged to participate!
What’s a color fun run? – Color fun run participants will run or walk a short course (less than a mile) in a race provided white T-shirt. Volunteers throw color powder at the runners/walkers as they go by, and by the end of the run participants are covered in colors! All color fun run participants will be provided with a white colored T-shirt and sunglasses for the color fun run.
Rally/Vigil Against Gun Violence
June 5 @ 5:00 p.m.
Town Green
Since 2015, the first Friday in June has been designated as National Gun Violence Awareness Day (read about its origins here). The following two days have become known as Wear Orange Weekend. The shootings in Buffalo on May 17, those in Uvalde on May 27–and the macabre coincidence of the NRA convention taking place this very minute in Houston–make vigorous and sustained action more necessary than ever.

Wednesday – June 8
Secret Society of Crafters – Hearts on Fiber
June 8 @ 10:00 a.m.
208 South Main Street
Crafting is more fun with other people, which is why we created the “Secret” Society of Crafters. The title says “secret,” but we’re a not-so-secret, not-so-exclusive group who meets to stitch, craft, crochet, knit, sit and talk. We may or may not talk about knitting, yarn bombing, hand dying, or the latest stitch. We may even talk about world domination. You won’t know unless you come. Connect with crafters in the area, find the motivation to pick up that project again, and benefit from the wisdom of a passionate crafting group. The “Secret” Society of Crafters meets outside the store every Wednesday and Sunday at 10:00 a.m. weather permitting. We hope to see you there!
S.U.M.M.E.R. Book Club (Short, Uplifting, Mildly Madcap, Easy Reads)
June 8 @ 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Davidson Branch Library – Community Room
The club will meet the second Wednesday in June, July, and August. The books are: The Last Chance Library by Freya Sampson (June 8), The Bookish Life of Nina Hill by Abbi Waxman ( July 13), and The Lido by Libby Page (August 10).
Trivia Night at Summit
