Construction at Davidson United Methodist
If you have driven down S. Main Street in the past few days you have likely seen the big construction fence that has been placed around Davidson United Methodist Church.
The work on the church’s long-planned addition has begun.

- Development Description: The church proposes an addition/renovation to the rear of the northeastern side of the existing structure adding approximately 7,600sf of heated space for the purpose of new music ministry space along with additional classroom and meeting space.

General Statement of Intent:
The project includes a new 2-story addition, 36’-8” high, located behind the existing fellowship hall that fronts South Main Street. The primary uses for this addition are to expand the church’s music and youth areas. The first floor includes spaces for the choir and hand bells, along with an enlarged kitchen. The second floor includes gathering and multipurpose spaces. The building façade will be modular brick veneer with storefront windows. The addition will have a mansard roof with asphalt shingles. The finishes will match the existing finishes. A detailed square footage summary is included on sheet A101 of the attached floor plans. The existing buildings include some demolition and renovations to the toilet facilities and installation of a new elevator.
