Access to Success (A2S) is hosting its annual fundraising event on October 8, 2022 at 6 p.m. The A2S Soulful Supper will be held in Vail Commons on Davidson College’s Campus and is presented by River Pools Charlotte. Tickets may be purchased here. Those not attending may still register and participate in the silent auction online.
Access to Success is a nonprofit organization focused on providing sustainable programs that generate positive change for Nigerian children and their communities. The organization is headquartered in Davidson and was founded by Andrew Lovedale, a former Davidson Basketball player. A2S programs are primarily held in Andrew’s hometown of Benin City, Nigeria.
This year’s Soulful Supper will consist of a VIP hour, social hour, and main event with a presentation from Mr. Lovedale and other key members of Access to Success. Silent auction items will be available for bidding online prior to the event and throughout the evening on October 8. A catered traditional Nigerian meal will be served for the main event. Guests will be able to mingle with A2S staff, scholars, and volunteers throughout the evening’s events.
After 12 years of developing their primarily educational and entrepreneurial programs in Nigeria, A2S has now opened a Youth Center facility. This year’s fundraising event will celebrate this milestone for the organization and support the operational cost of the facility, which will serve 240 children daily, as well as provide resources for A2S’s 62 university scholars and space for a variety of community outreach events. A2S is in its “Season of Promise,” a ten-year period of growth where it plans to be a more financially sustainable organization. This Youth Center is the first step in plans to broaden its reach in the community and to continue to facilitate the transition from school to the workforce for the next generation of Nigerians.
