Davidson Volleyball picked 5th in A-10 preseason poll.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — The Davidson Wildcats have been predicted to finish fifth in the Atlantic 10’s 2022 volleyball preseason poll, the program’s highest preseason nod since joining the league in 2014-15, the conference office announced Friday.

“Based on last year’s standing, I think this is a pretty accurate poll,” said Chris Willis, reigning A-10 Co-Coach of the Year. “It’s now the 2022 season, and like everyone in our conference, our objective is to win the A-10 title. I’m confident about the depth of talent we have and am excited to match up with our competition across the league.”

Dayton was voted the league’s favorite, after capturing its fourth straight championship during the 2021 campaign, followed by the VCU Rams, who made a semifinal appearance last season. League newcomer Loyola Chicago and the Saint Louis Billikens rounded out the top-four, before the ‘Cats were ranked fifth after a program-best, 10-6 A-10 record in 2021.

The Wildcats welcome back the Atlantic 10’s 2021 Co-Libero of the Year in Bella Brady, as she and the ‘Cats are set to open up the 2022 campaign next Friday, Aug. 26 at the UNC Wilmington Invitational.
