September is very exciting for The ODD Sock – it’s the month we collect gently used socks. The attached video tells our story, as do the photos. Please go through your sock drawers and donate unused or gently used socks for distribution to the homeless this winter. All sizes, shapes, and colors are acceptable. Collection locations in Davidson are Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream shop on Main Street, The Egg Cafe on Griffith Street, and 77 Grounds Coffee Shop on Jetton Street.

Community service hours will be available every Wednesday in September from 3:30 – 5:00 PM for middle and high school students. Students will sort and pack socks for delivery to homeless shelters. The location will be at Mini-Storage, 409 Jetton Street, Davidson. This location is not air conditioned or heated. The Lead Sock Wrangler is looking for a people who would like to be more involved with The ODD Sock than just sorting socks. This is similar to a voluntary intern position. Please email [email protected] if you are interested.
