Volleyball Finishes 2-1 at Wildcat Classic

Davidson Volleyball hosted the Wildcat Classic this past weekend.

 

DAVIDSON — The Davidson volleyball team wrapped up a 2-1 performance at the Wildcat Classic Saturday, falling 3-1 to New Mexico State in Belk Arena.

The loss, which drops the Wildcats to 4-2, comes after 3-0 wins over N.C. A&T and Lindenwood in the event.

Emma Slusser continued her strong season with 17 kills and four blocks and earned all-tournament recognition alongside teammate Kayla Davis, who had 10 kills and hit .625 Saturday.

New Mexico State took the first two sets 25-23 before Davidson emerged with a 29-27 win in the third. The Aggies then closed it out with a 25-19 win in the fourth.

Isabel Decker added 10 kills and three aces, while Jackie Bardin had 11 kills, and Bella Brady finished with 22 digs.

The Wildcats will play in the Winthrop Invitational next weekend in Rock Hill, S.C. They’ll meet Wyoming Friday at 6:30 p.m. before meeting Delaware and Winthrop Saturday.
