Davidson Athletics to Celebrate Female Athletes, Title IX Anniversary at 2022 Wildcat Weekend
Back in 2018, dozens of Davidson women’s basketball alumnae returned to Belk Arena to help honor alumna Jen O’Brien (Class of 2000) as her jersey was retired.
DAVIDSON, N.C. – To wrap up its yearlong celebrations of the 50th anniversary of Title IX, the Davidson Athletic Department is welcoming all former female scholar-athletes and their families back to campus for Wildcat Weekend festivities.
Weekend events include a “Run Like a Girl” 5K race.As Wildcat Weekend takes place Nov. 4-6 across campus, Davidson Athletics will host a pregame tailgate on Saturday, Nov. 5, prior to the football team’s 1 p.m. game against Stetson. The 10 a.m. event will include a bounce house, games and live music.
The following day, Sunday, Nov. 6, the department will host a one-mile Run Like a Girl fun run, in collaboration with Girls on the Run, beginning at approximately 11 a.m. After the race, all participants are invited to attend Davidson volleyball’s 1 p.m. match against George Mason.
