Men’s Tennis Wraps Up Davidson Invitational

Last weekend’s weather didn’t stop the Davidson Invitational.

 

DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Davidson men’s tennis team wrapped up its annual fall tournament on Sunday after competing against players from UNC Asheville, Charlotte and Queens University all weekend.

In all, the ‘Cats collected one doubles victory from Alejandro Solares and Udday Singh (6-3, 6-3), along with 13 individual victories. Junior Jerry Wang highlighted the weekend, earning a total of three singles victories and winning his respective draw. The Fayetteville native won two, three-set matches and a 7-5, 6-2 victory in round two to seal the deal.

Additionally, sophomore Luca Lovrich won two straight matches, in rounds one and two, taking the first match 7-6, 6-7, 10-7, and game two 6-1, 4-6, 10-6, while William Clark and Nico Pinzon also won two singles matches.

Singh, Maxwell Kachkarov and Juan Camilo Perez Gongora also each picked up singles victories to close out the weekend.
