Hello DFM Shoppers,
Oh baby! It’s cold outside! The temperatures have started to dip into the 30’s; which means that our farmers have been busy protecting their delicate crops from the dangers of frost. We are grateful for their knowledge and their ability to continue to bring a bounty of goodness to the DFM, even when Mother Nature throws another curve ball!
Remember that all the bounty our farmers are harvesting also is showcased in several products from our prepared food vendors. For example, you will find local winter squash in hand made pastas and quiches, fresh local berries in delicious desserts and artisanal cheeses in sweet and savory hand pies.
Throw on your favorite comfy sweater and grab your market tote! It is going to be another great day to shop, learn, listen and eat at the DFM!
eat fresh, eat healthy
Fair Share Farm, located in Pfafftown about an hour north of the market, takes pride in growing the best produce they can using natural farming practices. Microgreens and lettuce are their main crops and they also enjoy growing lots of root vegetables, fresh herbs and other greens like kale and radicchio. Not including the owners, Emma Hendel and Elliot Seldner, it takes about 8-12 employees to grow and sell all of their wonderful produce. They love growing year-round for you and your family and in 2023 they are excited to welcome a baby girl to their household. Make sure to visit Fair Share at the market this Saturday!
One of the newest members of the DFM, Rico’s Acai Food Truck will be at the market this Saturday. Please stop by for a delicious bowl made with the highest quality acai puree, granola and DFM honey crisp apples!
