November News from the ODD Sock

November is an exciting month for The ODD Sock. Volunteer service hours for middle and high school students will be available Wednesday November 2, 9, and 30 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Mini-Storage, 409 Jetton St., Davidson. Students will sort and pack socks for delivery to homeless shelters. This location is not air conditioned or heated. If you are interested in volunteering, email [email protected].

We will also continue to collect new and very gently used socks. Please go through your sock drawers and donate unused and gently-used socks for distribution to the homeless this winter. All sizes, shapes, and colors are acceptable.

Collection locations in Davidson:

  • Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream shop on Main Street,
  • The Egg Cafe on Griffin St.,
  • 77 Grounds Coffee Shop on Jetton Street.

The lead sock wrangler is looking for a person or persons who would like to be more involved with The ODD Sock than just sorting socks. Please email [email protected] if you have an interest in this voluntary intern position.
