December News from Ada Jenkins

by | Dec 5, 2022 | Ada Jenkins Center, News

Ada Jenkins Center logo The holiday season is upon us, and the Ada Jenkins Center is deeply grateful to everyone remembering our neighbors in need. 1 in 20 people in our area live at or below the Federal Poverty Level, and the Ada Jenkins Center is here to help clients create lasting solutions for economic stability, thanks to generous members of our community. If you’d like to join us, click here. The colder weather also means frightening nights for our homeless clients. Our Street Outreach team is working with 27 unsheltered clients right now, and can use some supplies:

  • New ground tarps
  • New sleeping bags
  • Beef jerky
  • New gloves (black)
  • New beanies/hats
  • New socks (Mens Large)
  • “Hot Hands” hand and feet warmers
  • Mini flashlights and batteries
  • Drawstring tote bags

…. here’s our Amazon wishlist for easy ordering, if you are inclined to do so! Looking for a new career in the new year?  We’d love to have you join us. Please see our Careers web page to learn about the following open positions:

  • Development Manager
  • LEARN Works Afterschool Enrichment Teachers
  • Financial Assistance and VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Program Manager

Finally, please stop by our Christmas tree in the Rotary Club of Davidson’s Giving Tree Village during Christmas in Davidson!  Huge thanks to our friends at the Famous Toastery for sponsoring our tree.
