Local Child Still Missing, Mother and Stepfather Arrested

The Cornelius Police Department has requested and received assistance from the FBI and the SBI in the search for Madalina Cojocari. In the past few hours, the FBI released the attached “Missing” poster seeking information in the ongoing investigation.
 
 

Cornelius Police released images of crews searching Lake Norman in the effort to find the missing child.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Madalina Cojocari is asked to please contact the Cornelius Police Department at 704-892-7773 or the North Mecklenburg Crimestoppers at 704-896-7867. You can remain anonymous.

 
The Cornelius Police Department, the FBI, and the SBI are developing and following many leads through our intense investigation to #FindMadalina. While the public will not see the majority of our investigative work, today you may see our lake patrol units and partners at the Cornelius Fire Department. As part of the normal investigative process, we are expanding our search area outside of the home where Madalina was last seen and that now includes Lake Cornelius. We are conducting additional land and water searches as a precautionary measure. There’s nothing we won’t do to #FindMadalina.
 
 
DETAILS Madalina Cojocari was last seen at home in Cornelius, North Carolina, on the evening of November 23, 2022, and has not been seen since. She was reported missing to her school on December 15, 2022. Madalina was last seen wearing jeans, pink, purple and white Adidas shoes, and a white t-shirt and jacket. Madalina’s stepfather was employed at Ingersoll-Rand in Davidson.
