Peake Gets Lone Wrestling Victory as ‘Cats Fall at Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Davidson wrestling team traveled to Chattanooga to face the Mocs in Southern Conference wrestling action on Saturday night and fell 39-3.

Freshman Tanner Peake secured the lone victory for the ‘Cats with a hard-fought 3-1 decision over Chattanooga’s Matthew Williams. Peake wrestled in place of Marc Koch in the 157-pound division and got his second straight conference dual win. The Flemington, New Jersey native moved to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in conference action this season.

The Mocs were able to win the rest of Saturday’s bouts to cruise to their 32nd consecutive victory over the Wildcats.

Davidson will be back on the mats next Saturday (Jan. 28) to take on Campbell at 2:00 p.m.
