Marshall Breaks Record; Gisolfi-McReady Takes Third at Track Invite

LYNCHBURG, Va. ­ – Davidson’s women’s track and field team ended their weekend at Liberty University’s Darius Dixon Memorial Invite on Saturday with a new school record set by Kierra Marshall and a third-place finish from Aleia Gisolfi-McCready.

Marshall, a junior from Rockville, Maryland, set a new Davidson record in the 200 meters with a time of 24.70. This broke the previous record of 25.12 set by Marshall last year and puts her fourth in the Atlantic 10. Today’s time also was good for eight place at Liberty.

Also taking a top-ten finish and setting a new personal-best was Aleia Gisolfi-McCready. Gisolfi-McReady earned a third place finish in the 500 meters and set a new personal mark with a time of 1:15.44. This ranks her inside the top-ten in the A-10 ranks at sixth.

The women’s track team will look to set more records at the USC Open next Friday (Feb. 17).
