Ben & Jerry’s Fundraiser for Turkey and Syria Earthquake Relief
Join Ben & Jerry’s Davidson, Wednesday February 15 from noon to 9 p.m. for an all-day profit share benefiting the Red Cross/Crescent Societies in Turkey and Syria. As a Host Parent of 2 Davidson College international students, Ben & Jerry’s manager Karen Toney was deeply moved by the email that went out from 4 Turkish and Syrian students at Davidson College seeking donations and relief items to send to their countries to help with devastation left in the aftermath of the earthquake. Please consider supporting these efforts by coming out next Wednesday to 202 South Main Street. 20% of sales will go directly to the non-profit to help with immediate needs.
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) has strived for hope and humanity for over 100 years. The IFRC was founded in 1919 in Paris in the aftermath of World War I. Originally called the League of Red Cross Societies, they were the brainchild of Henry Davison, the president of the American Red Cross War Committee.
