CMPD Chase Leads to Davidson, One Suspect Remains At Large – UPDATED

Davidson Police issued an alert Tuesday evening following a CMPD chase that ended in Davidson.

As a follow up to last night’s police activity, there is currently no indication that the outstanding suspect in this investigation has any connection to the Davidson community.
 
The Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department has identified this individual, and he is a juvenile; therefore, they cannot release any additional information.
 
Any additional inquiries should be directed to the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department. Although the suspect has not been apprehended, he is not believed to be in the Davidson area.
 
The Davidson Police Department wants to remind residents to continue to be vigilant and to contact 911 if you observe any suspicious persons or activity. As always, the community is always safer when we all look out for the welfare of each other.
 
The Davidson Police Department will update residents when new information regarding this incident becomes available. Thank you for your support.

Tuesday evening, the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD), accompanied by a CMPD Helicopter, followed a stolen vehicle up I-77 that exited into Davidson. Once the vehicle drove down into a dead end in West Davidson, five occupants jumped and ran from the vehicle.
 
The Davidson Police Department offered assistance, and the CMPD officers and K-9 tracked the occupants – taking four into custody. The fifth one was able to elude arrest.
 
The still outstanding black male is 5’11” and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, tan khaki pants, and no shoes. The suspect was last seen near Jetton and Gamble.
