DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson lacrosse dropped its first game of the season on Wednesday night, falling 18-9 to the No. 11 Duke Blue Devils inside Richardson Stadium.

Duke scored seven of the game’s first nine goals and pulled ahead to an 11-4 lead by halftime.

The Wildcats had their most productive quarter in the third, outscoring the Blue Devils 4-3 and pulling back within six, 14-8, heading into the final 15 minutes of play. Erin Cooke, Josie Lambert and Riley Cochrane led the ‘Cats on a three-goal tear to close out the frame and erased a once nine-goal deficit, but Duke held Davidson to just one goal in the fourth to pull away for good.
