Wildcat Swimmers Set Records, Secure First Medal at A-10s
GENEVA, Ohio — Davidson swimmers captured a silver medal and broke a school record to highlight the first day of the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships Wednesday at the SPIRE Institute.
The women’s 200 medley relay team of Leah Sandock, Abby Francis, Shelby Stanley and Martha Tripsa opened the 40-event meet by setting a program record with a time of 1:40.47, while taking fifth.
The Wildcats’ first medal of the championships then came in the men’s 800 free relay, where Dylan Felt, Jeremy Kemp, Fletcher Smith and Ben McClain swam to second with a time of 6:32.62.
The men’s 200 medley relay of Liam McDonough, Andrew Schou, Miles Charles and Guil Ware took fifth (1:29.08), while the women’s 800 free relay of Francis, Kate Pottle, Marissa Lassell and Stanley was sixth (7:25.09).
Diver Annica Valmassei placed sixth in 1-meter diving (261.35).
