by | Mar 14, 2023

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Caitlin Genovy has been named Davidson’s next assistant volleyball coach and recruiting coordinator, head coach Chris Willis announced Monday.

Genovy joins the Wildcats after two seasons with the Houston volleyball program as a volunteer assistant coach, primarily responsible for travel coordination, scouting, analysis and day-to-day program operations.

“I’m excited to welcome Caitlin to our DCVB family,” Willis said. “She brings training experience from a top-25 program that will enhance our program’s growth. Caitlin’s energy and ability to connect with others make her a perfect fit as our recruiting coordinator as well. I’m looking forward to seeing her work with our scholar-athletes this year.”

From Stoney Creek, Ontario, Genovy competed collegiately at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and spent a year playing professional volleyball for Volley-Ball La Rochette in France as a setter after graduation.

“I am honored to be joining the Davidson volleyball program,” Genovy said. “It is very clear to me that this is a special program to be a part of, and I am excited to continue to learn and grow under Coach Willis’ guidance, while working with our amazing scholar-athletes.”

After her playing career, Genovy got her start in college coaching as a graduate assistant for Indiana State during the 2019 and 2020 seasons, where she helped coach the Sycamores back to a Missouri Valley Conference Tournament appearance in the 2021 spring season after a two-year hiatus.

During her time with Houston, the Cougars finished the 2021 season with their most wins in a single season (25) since 1996 and ended the 2022 campaign with multiple top-25 rankings, the program’s longest win streak (20 games), an AAC Co-Championship and an NCAA Regional Semifinal appearance.

Genovy graduated from McMaster University in 2018 with a degree in Kinesiology.
