OLEAN, N.Y. – Davidson lacrosse battled St. Bonaventure for 60 minutes on Saturday afternoon, holding off the Bonnies long enough to secure a one-goal, 11-10, Atlantic 10 victory.

Senior captain Erin Cooke scored a goal with 3:23 remaining in the third quarter to tie the game at 8-8, before Grace Fahey, Allie Hartnett and Riley Cochrane rattled off a 4-0 scoring tear to pull ahead 11-8 and ultimately secure the lead for good.

St. Bonaventure threatened with back-to-back goals to come back within one of the ‘Cats, 11-10, at the 3:29 mark in the fourth, but goalkeeper Amanda Monahan came up with a save on a free position shot with 27 ticks remaining to close out the victory.

The Bonnies controlled the pace of play in the first half, as Davidson led just once, 2-1, after a Josie Lambert goal from a Cooke pass. While the home team pulled back ahead 3-2 at the end of the first, Fahey equalized just 30 seconds into the second frame before St. Bonnies went ahead by two goals, 5-3, and eventually led 6-5 going into halftime.

Over the course of the second half, the Wildcats outscored St. Bonnies 6-4 and out shot them 12-8 to pull off the come-from-behind win.
