Women’s Basketball Announces Silent Auction Fundraiser
DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson women’s basketball team will be hosting a silent auction from Monday, April 3 to Friday, April 7 in an effort to raise money for the program’s international trip this summer.
The Wildcats will embark on their first international trip in over two decades in late August, as the ‘Cats plan to visit Barcelona and Valencia, Spain for 10 days of basketball and adventure.
“I am excited our program has the opportunity to go to Spain this summer,” said head coach Gayle Fulks. “Davidson women’s basketball has not been able to go on a foreign tour in over 20 years and I think this trip will allow our team to develop on and off the court. I am extremely grateful for Davidson’s investment in our program and allowing our student-athletes to take part in this once in a lifetime experience. I have no doubt that this trip will help us accomplish our goal of competing for an A-10 championship while simultaneously providing an educational and cultural experience for our players.”
Silent auction packages include exclusive Davidson Curry Brand sneakers and authentic Curry Brand jerseys, guest coaching opportunities, Charlotte restaurant experiences and much, much more.
“Basketball has awarded me many opportunities to experience new places and people, expanding my worldview and allowing me to grow as a person,” said redshirt-sophomore Sallie Schutz. “Our team trip to Spain this summer would allow me to travel to a place I’ve never been and experience new cultures, beautiful places, and art. Additionally, Spain will give our team a unique opportunity to compete as a team, build relationships, and improve before starting the preseason. With a large class of new recruits coming next year, this international opportunity is invaluable! The best part is that I get to experience this trip with my favorite people. I am so excited about this opportunity.”
The silent auction will go live at 9 a.m. EST on Monday, April 3 and all proceeds will be tax deductible.
