Women’s Basketball Silent Auction Ends Friday

by | Apr 4, 2023

The women’s basketball team is hosting a silent auction that runs through Friday, April 7th at 9 p.m. The auction is being held to help fund their upcoming trip to Spain. They are auctioning some fun items and experiences that we thought you may be interested in, all while supporting an important cause for our women’s team. The items include Davidson men’s basketball packages including a Brunch with Coach Bob McKillop (including an autograph basketball from Coach) and a pair of player exclusive custom Curry Brand FloTro 4 shoes with the Davidson Wildcat logo (the same style shoes Steph wore this year in a Warriors game). They have a wide variety of other packages as well including an exclusive golf trip at the world renown Quixote Club, prime college and NFL football packages, Charlotte restaurant packages, and many more.

Coach Bob McKillop shared the following about the importance of the foreign tours taken by the men’s team.

“Because the basketball season extends through two semesters, our players were never given the opportunity for a semester abroad. The European trip at the end of the summer became a perfect option. It also became a building block and foundation for our program’s success. The trip clearly presented the value of an educational and cultural experience. It also became a building block for our team chemistry, and a laboratory for the development of the next season’s game plan. Plus, it led to the development and nurturing of superb team chemistry. I’m convinced that our trip in 1993, 1997, 2001, and 2005, was the pivotal factor that led us to one NIT and three NCAA postseason appearances in those seasons. For every one of our players, the European trip became a learning and growing experience and a memory that they have cherished forever.”

Coach McKillop is excited the women’s team will have the opportunity to take a foreign tour and is excited to be a part of their auction. The women’s team hasn’t had the opportunity to travel abroad in over 20 years and this is an opportunity that will help their student-athletes on and off the court.
