Back-to-Back: Kollock Named A-10 Rookie of the Week

DAVIDSON, N.C. – For the second consecutive week, Savanna Kollock has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week following another undefeated stretch.
Kollock, a first-year player from Scottsdale, Az., went 4-0 in Davidson’s two matches over VCU and Richmond this past weekend. The Arizona native won both singles matches and both doubles matches to boost her already impressive freshman resume. Kollock defeated VCU’s Anja Draskovic, 6-1, 6-3 then won by default in doubles after the Rams did not field a doubles pairing. Against Richmond, Kollock extended her singles win streak to five when she picked up a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Marta Buendia then paired up with Josie Schaffer to earn a 6-2 doubles victory.
On the year, Kollock is now 11-4 overall in singles play and 10-4 in doubles action. She is also undefeated in A-10 play with three singles wins and a pair of doubles victories. Kollock will enter the Atlantic 10 Tournament next weekend (April 27) riding a five-match singles win streak and three straight doubles wins when paired with Schaffer.
