Wildcats’ Golf Aims for Third Straight A-10 Title

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson, which has won the last two conference titles and three of the last four, will head to the Sunshine State this weekend to compete in the 2023 Atlantic 10 Men’s Golf Championships.
The three-day / 54-hole event will once again take place at the Reunion Resort & Golf Club’s Nicklaus Course April 28-30. Tee times will begin at 7:30 a.m. each day off the 1st and 10th tees.
Behind a final-round 9-under 279 and three Top-5 individual finishes, the Wildcats rallied past VCU to claim the 2022 title at 13-under par, two clear of the Rams. It was Davidson’s third A-10 crown since joining the league in 2014-15 and eighth league title in program history.
In seven Atlantic 10 Championship appearances, the Wildcats have captured three titles (2018, 2021, 2022), a runner-up and third-place showing, while recording an average finish of 3.2.
Through nine events this season, Davidson has posted a 284.04 scoring average, two wins and six Top-5 finishes.
Alex Heffner, the 2022 Atlantic 10 Player of the Year, leads the ‘Cats with a 70.16 stroke average. He will be joined in this weekend’s lineup by Joshua Stewart (72.00), Will Davis (72.09), Brian Garrett (72.90) and Ethan Hall (73.56).
