M@SA: Charlotte Master Chorale

 

On Sunday, May 21 at 3:00 p.m. Music at St. Alban’s presents The Charlotte Master Chorale Chamber Singers, a smaller ensemble of voices from the Charlotte Master Chorale. Under the direction of Artistic Director Kenney Potter, the ensemble will perform a program titled Poets featuring poetry by William Shakespeare, Harry T. Burleigh, Sara Teasdale, Ogden Nash, Paul Laurence Dunbar, and Maya Angelou in musical settings by contemporary composers such as Eric Whitacre, Susan LaBarr, and others. The concert will be preceded by performances by young flute students of Shirley Gilpin, and by M@SA’s own Youth Board Member Isaac Barsoum, at 2:20 p.m. A meet-the-artists reception follows the concert.
