Clark and Solares Earn All-Conference Men’s Tennis Honors
In a poll conducted by the league’s head coaches, Clark captured his first All-Conference honor as a senior, while Solares made the A-10’s Second Team in back-to-back seasons. A mathematics major, Clark also garnered his second-straight All-Academic recognition from the conference office.
A Guatemala native, Solares went 10-8 in singles play as a junior, leading the ‘Cats as the only player with double-digit wins during the 2023 campaign. He picked up a 6-2 record at No. 3, while going 3-2 against Atlantic 10 opponents. Solares also went 3-0 in doubles play against A-10 teams during the regular season, while winning seven-straight singles matches from Feb. 11 to March 7 across courts two and three.
In his senior season, Clark finished 9-9 in singles play while picking up two wins at No. 1 against regional rival Charlotte and A-10 foe Fordham. The Alexandria, Va. native went 3-2 against Atlantic 10 match ups, closing out his career with two-straight conference wins against Dayton and George Mason. Ending the year 6-4 overall from No. 2, the senior also went on a four-match win streak against Belmont Abbey, Wingate, LIU and Fordham, and earned an Academic All-District honor before the conclusion of the 2022-23 academic year.
