Meet at the Davidson College War Memorial at 2:30 p.m. Monday to help place flags. “Taps” will be played at 3:00 p.m.

Come enjoy Lake Davidson on the watercraft of your choice: single or double kayak, paddle board or canoe! Meet our staff to rent your watercraft at the Nature Preserve behind Davidson Day School on Jetton Street and have fun on a self-guided paddling adventure. Register in advance to secure your watercraft of choice.

Have you completed the same puzzles more than once? Tired of the same old board games? Ready for some new ones? Bring your gently used puzzles and board games and leave with new-to-you puzzles and board games! Puzzles and games must be without any missing pieces. Children’s puzzles must be swapped for other children’s puzzles. Take as many as you bring. Any puzzles or games left at the end of the swap will be considered property of the Davidson Branch Library.

Flags In – Davidson College War Memorial

Davidson College – War Memorial

Join area veterans and families as flags are placed at the Davidson College War Memorial. At 3:00 p.m. local trumpet player – Ben Mitchell returns to perform “Taps.” Ben first performed “Taps” at the Davidson College War Memorial on Memorial Day 2019 – when he was 11 years old. In 2021 Ben’s performance was featured on the CBS Evening News as part of their “Taps Across America” program.

Davidson Branch Library: Paws to Read (3 sessions)

This program will be held in the children’s area of the Davidson Branch Library. Participants will be required to complete a form with reading interests prior to attending. Boost your reading skills and confidence by reading aloud to a volunteer therapy dog. Paws to Read will be returning to our branch on Tuesday afternoons. Register for a 20 minute reading session with one of our Paws to Read dogs Marshall, Maverick, SabaiDee and Trooper! We hope to read with you soon!​

This program will be provided by Davidson Branch library staff.  Babies experience brain stimulation through language and socialization. Engage your little one with new sights and sounds through books, songs, and rhymes.  This program is for babies ages 0 to 18 months. Registration for this program is limited to 10 babies with caregivers. Please register one contact person.
