NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Senior Rachel Horowitz and junior Megan Burkholder were named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic team the league announced on Tuesday.

Horowitz, a public health major from Austin, Texas took home the silver medal at the A-10 Outdoor Championships in the 400-meters and ran the opening leg on the 4×400 relay team that won gold for the first time in program history. Horowitz ended her Davidson career with outdoor school records in the 200 and 400-meters, and she also was awarded the A-10 postgraduate scholarship in April.

Burkholder, a physics major from Cozad, Nebraska also won silver at this year’s A-10 Outdoor Championships in the pole vault to cap off an incredible year. Her mark of 3.88 meters at the conference championships broke her previous outdoor record for the third time this season. She also holds the indoor school record and was named A-10 Co-Field Performer of the Week on April 12.

This is the first career A-10 All-Academic honors for both Horowitz and Burkholder, and it is the first time at least one Wildcat has made it on the list since the 2020 season.

To be considered for the A-10 All-Academic team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore both academically and eligibility-wise, be a starter or significant contributor, and have a 3.0 cumulative GPA or better.
