Davidson Police Department Invites Community to Cone with a Cop Event

Whit’s Frozen Custard and the Davidson Police Department will host the annual “Cone with a Cop” event Saturday, June 17, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Town of Davidson Police Department (DPD) is excited to be hosting its fifth annual Cone with a Cop event on Saturday, June 17, between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
The public is invited to join officers at Whit’s Frozen Custard (428 S. Main Street) where children will be able to interact with police officers and others while enjoying vanilla or chocolate custard.
In addition to the DPD, the Davidson Fire Department (DFD) will be there assisting with the event’s Safety Day focus. Children will be able to learn about personal safety, such as how to handle strangers, cross the street safely, and more, and families can learn how to properly install a child car seat. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel will also be on hand to answer questions.
“The Davidson Police Department loves this opportunity to interact with community members, especially the children, in an environment without crisis” said Police Chief Kim Davidson. “Cone with a Cop is a great event for allowing children a chance to have a yummy, sweet treat, get to know some of our officers, and learn a few things that will help keep them safe while being in a comfortable environment.”
