New in Downtown: KF Studios Handmade Marketplace

by | Jun 6, 2023

Kristen’s mural in Town Hall has been a hit with neighbors of all ages.

A new gallery and gift shop has opened in downtown Davidson—KF Studios, located between Ben & Jerry’s and The Pickled Peach.  Many will recognize owner Kristen Feighery as the owner of Sanctuary, formerly on Main Street.

KF Studios is Kristen’s new venture, featuring handmade art and gifts, with 90 percent produced locally. Her merchandise includes paintings, pottery, jewelry, textiles, cutting boards, hand-turned bowls, woven baskets, fine art, folk art, and custom items.

Kristen is currently working with 36 artists, 15 who were featured at Sanctuary. Nothing in the shop is mass-produced.

Because her customers like knowing about the artist who created their purchase, Kristen has received a positive response to her unique offerings. In addition, KF Studios supports Fair Trade, nonprofits that help women in Third World countries support themselves through creating and selling their crafts across the globe.

A maker herself, Kristen has created two murals in town—one at the new Town Hall and the other at Masala Mastee, which offers India street food.

KF Studios, located at 202 South Main Street Suite C, is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
