Davidson Police Host Summertime Storytimes
DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson Police Department invites area children (and those young at heart) to attend their Summertime Storytimes on Wednesday, June 28 and Wednesday, July 26 on the steps of the Davidson Public Library. Both sessions will begin at 1:30 p.m.
This year, Summertime Storytime welcomes two local authors, Keri Culp and Ebony ZayZay who will each read from their books. On June 28, Keri will read The Poo at the Zoo, and on July 26, Ebony will read The Adventures of Keva.
Storytime attendees will be able to purchase copies of the books from local favorite Main Street Books and have them autographed by each author, as well as participate in author Q & As on both June 28 and July 26.
“This is a great opportunity for children to have some fun, listen to a story, and interact with local police,” stated Davidson Community Engagement Officer Mike Prather. “We’re thrilled to have both of the authors reading their own books this year!”
Also participating will be Officer Mike’s favorite musical guest, Jamie Hofmeister-Cline from Music Together of Charlotte as well as Whit’s Frozen Custard of Davidson serving sweet treats.
In case of inclement weather, the June 28 Storytime will move to the Lower Level Community Room of the Davidson Town Hall and Community Center building (251 South Street), and the July 26 Storytime will be held in the Davidson Town Hall and Community Center auditorium (251 South Street) on the main level.
