Davidson Police Department Offers Dog Walker Watch Program

by | Jun 22, 2023

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson Police Department (DPD) invites residents to a Dog Walker Watch training session on July 6, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. in the Lower Level of the Davidson Town Hall and Community Center (251 South Street.)

Dog Walker Watch encourages neighbors to assist local law enforcement by acting as extra eyes and ears while out walking their dogs. The program enhances the partnership between the DPD and residents while providing resources for neighbors to be more aware of their surroundings and how to effectively observe and report suspicious activity.

“We are a community that enjoys being outdoors and physically active,” said Community Engagement Officer, Mike Prather. “Incorporating the two while to serving others and keeping citizens safe is an opportunity that fits Davidson’s core values and helps the police department with its goal to be proactive in preventing crime.”

This training session is open to the first thirty (30) Davidson residents who register. To register, complete the online form here.

If you have questions, please contact Community Engagement Officer, Mike Prather via email, DPDCommunityEngagement@townofdavidson.org.
