Happy July, from the Ada Jenkins Center.  We send thanks to everyone who helped make our Third Annual Juneteenth Celebration a huge success:  participating vendors and performers, neighbors, community volunteers, and sponsors. Nearly 400 people attended, enjoying musical performances, Freedom School student presentations, and a Black-owned Businesses Marketplace. Click here for a quick recap of the sights and sounds of the day!

Camp LEARN Works — our free summer program providing academics, friendship, and fun for qualifying students in grades 3-8 – needs volunteers July 31-August 18, during either the morning or afternoon sessions.  Ages 16+, please.  Contact Leslie Wilson for more information.

Our food pantry shelves are looking a bit bare. If you can donate toothpaste, shampoo (full size), deodorant (full size), or toilet tissue, we would greatly appreciate it!  Volunteers are available Tues-Thursday, 9:30-11:30am to accept donations at the food pantry entrance.

For an in-depth experience to learn about the extent of need in our north Mecklenburg County neighborhoods (you might be surprised), please register for one of our “Need in the North” van tours. Spots fill quickly!

Thank you, as always, for caring about the families we serve.
