McKillop Adds Schulte to 2023-24 Roster
DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson College men’s basketball head coach Matt McKillop announced the addition of Rikus Schulte on Wednesday afternoon.
A native of Münster, Germany, Schulte will join the Wildcats this fall as the 6-9 forward spent the last three seasons playing with Lokomotive Bernau in the ProB League in Germany.
“Rikus has proven his ability to compete at the highest levels of both German and European basketball,” McKillop said. “His size, skillset, and experience of playing unselfish, team-oriented basketball make him a perfect fit for Davidson.”
Schulte has also played with Alba Berlin, the largest national basketball club in Germany, winning back-to-back NBBL Championships during the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, while earning league MVP honors after averaging 21.5 points and 7.9 rebounds per game.
In 2022, Schulte competed in the European U18 Championship as a member of the German National Team and also made his debut with the senior Alba Berlin team, making three appearances in the Euroleague.
“We believe that Rikus will thrive in our basketball program, as well as in our college community, and we are thrilled to have him join us,” McKillop added.
