Music@St. Albans Announces its Upcoming Season for 2023-2024

Music at St. Alban’s (M@SA) announces its concerts for the upcoming season (2023-2024). The line-up features eight varied performances by highly regarded, well-trained, and experienced musicians. Together they promise a rich array of artistry and compelling entertainment.

September 24, 2023: Heartland Baroque will present an engaging program of 17th century music and readings from letters of the time.

October 22, 2023: The Lovell Bradford Jazz Ensemble. Renowned pianist Lovell Bradford will perform jazz hits with some of his favorite colleagues in the jazz world.

November 19, 2023: The Queens Chamber Players. Pianist Paul Nitsch brings his ensemble to perform Schubert’s glorious “Trout” quintet, with violin, viola, cello, bass, and piano.

January 21, 2024: Alicia Chapman, professor of oboe at Appalachian State University, will play oboe and English horn and be joined by her friends on organ and baritone voice.

February 18, 2024: Bechtler Ensemble. Cellist Tanja Bechtler performs music of women composers with her piano trio, composed of violin, cello, and piano.

March 17, 2024: Poisoned Dwarf Celtic Ensemble. This Williamsburg based Celtic ensemble brings toe tapping favorites to help celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

April 28, 2024: Adam Kossler and Ellie Wee. Classical guitarist Adam Kossler will perform with cellist Ellie Wee, both professors at Appalachian State University. Their program will include the incredible Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 by Hector Villa Lobos.

May 19, 2024: Hank, Pattie and the Current. Hank, Pattie and the Current bring exciting bluegrass favorites with their band, which includes fiddle, voice, guitar, and bass.

The September and March concerts will be preceded by a 2:00 p.m. pre-concert talk/demo sponsored by DavidsonLearns. All other concerts will feature young artist performances beginning at 2:20 p.m.

All concerts are followed by a meet-the-artists reception.
