Bring your whole family out to enjoy stories, songs, and movement activities that support early literacy skill development and help foster a love of books and reading in your child. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to participate. This storytime will take place outdoors at Davidson Library. [Inclement weather note: In the case of inclement weather, we will cancel the outdoor program. A decision to cancel will be announced via email by 9 a.m. the day of the event.] Registration is optional for this program. Please register one contact person for your entire family if you would like weather cancellation updates.

Feeling anxious? Try coloring. Science has shown that coloring in a mindful way can be an excellent stress reducer.  Three ways coloring calms the mind:

• Attention flows away from ourselves
• Repetitive motion relaxes the mind
• Low stakes make it enjoyable

Join us in an environment designed to help you be mindfully creative! Coloring sheets, coloring tools, calming music, and a display of mental health books to browse will be provided. No artistic ability required. Feel free to bring your own supplies as well.

This program will be provided by Davidson library staff. Please check in with library staff beginning at 9:00 am on the day of the Storytime – the first 12 babies and their caregivers are able to attend. Babies experience brain stimulation through language and socialization. Engage your little one with new sights and sounds through books, songs, and rhymes.

This program is for preteens (ages 9-12) and teens (ages 12-18) and will take place in the Davidson branch Community Room. Snacks and light refreshments will be provided.
