It’s That Time of Year in Davidson

by | Aug 11, 2023

Things have been relatively quiet around town since Commencement 2023 on May 14.

It’s that time of year in Davidson. The time of year when the campus is starting to come back to life after the summer break. Many scholar-athletes are already on campus, and the Wildcats’ Fall FanFest was held Friday night, August 11.

Things will really start humming the week of August 21 as Orientation for first year students begins on the August 24. Other students begin coming in over the following days, and classes begin on August 28. See the full list of events of the 2023-24 academic calendar at the bottom of this article.

Athletic events start to populate the calendar in late August, and kick into full gear in September. One of the great community events of the fall season is the annual Davidson College Symphony Orchestra and Jazz Ensemble performance as the final Concert on the Green on September 30.

We would be remiss if we didn’t also state the obvious important detail for folks who live in Davidson – parking along Main Street and Concord Road is going to get a lot more crowded in the coming days. Plan accordingly.
