Davidson College Invites Community to Celebrate Gift of Painting
The community is invited to celebrate the gifting of Alenda Lux Ubi Orta Libertas, a painting by Sarah C.B. Guthrie ’90, to the Davidson College E.H. Little Library. The program will include comments by the artist and the donor, Eliz Kirkland Sickles ’88.
The event will take place on Wednesday, September 6 at 4 p.m. at the E.H. Little Library. Please RSVP to Sarah LaVictoire at her email, or 704.894.2618, if you plan to attend.
Sarah C.B.Guthrie is a Seattle-based full-time professional artist whose paintings have been part of solo and group shows in museums, galleries, and businesses in Seattle, Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, and Washington DC, including at the prestigious Phillips Collection. Alenda Lux Ubi Orta Libertas is a piece in Sarah’s Joy series and celebrates the Joy that Sarah found at Davidson College and in the college’s foundational values of truth, honor, integrity, learning, inquiry, curiosity, and community.
