Bauder Elevated to Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach
DAVIDSON, N.C. – Ryan Bauder, the current Director of Program Development for the Davidson College women’s basketball team, has had his role expanded to assistant coach head coach Gayle Fulks announced Thursday.
“I have known and worked with Ryan for many years and have always been impressed with his attention to detail, willingness to learn and go-getter mentality” said Fulks after making the appointment. “He has extensive knowledge of our program and Davidson College, a strong passion for women’s basketball and a keen eye for talent, all of which will help our program immediately. We are excited to now have him in this expansive role.”
Bauder most recently served as the Director of Program Development during the 2022-23 season.
“I am incredibly excited for this new role on our staff” said Bauder. “I look forward to taking on the responsibilities of an assistant coach as well as helping our staff with operations and holistic program development. Basketball has always been a passion of mine, so having an expanded role with on-court development and recruiting is something I look forward to. I thank Gayle for this opportunity and can’t wait to help Davidson compete for championships.”
Prior to arriving at Davidson, Bauder earned his Juris Doctor Degree in May of 2021. He also spent time interning with the Davidson compliance department and conducting research and interviews about name, image and likeness rights for student-athletes.
Bauder is a two-time Wake Forest graduate and was a four-year member of the Demon Deacons’ football team prior to working with the Wake Forest athletic department in academic services and basketball operations for the women’s program from 2015-17. Bauder also spent one season with the Wildcats from 2017-18 as the program’s Director of Player Development, during the first year of Fulks’ era.
