On Friday, October 27, the weekend will kick off with the annual Halloween March down Main Street as Davidson’s retailers, and other participants, hand out treats. Lineup for participants begins at 4:45 p.m. in front of the Town’s Public Safety Building at 216 South Main St. with the start of the march at 5:00 p.m.
Following the Halloween march this year, the Town invites guests to gather in front of the Davidson Public Library at 119 South Main St. for a Movie on the Green showing of the original Hocus Pocus at 6:30 p.m.
A Jack-O-Lantern Walk put on by the Davidson Parks and Recreation Department will take place from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Roosevelt Wilson Park at 420 Griffith Street both Friday and Saturday evenings. “This is such a fun evening for kids of all ages. I am thrilled that all three of these Halloween themed events are being held on the same night – it just adds to the fun and excitement of this year’s festivities,” said Kim Fleming, Economic Development Director.
Saturday, The Town of Davidson will host its main Fall Festival event, with live music, fall crafts, lawn games, and a community meal from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Town Hall & Community Center, 251 South Street. This special event is designed to celebrate our community and the 75th anniversary of The Davidson School.
In honor of the 75th anniversary of The Davidson School, there will be an opportunity for community members and Davidson School alumni to tour the building and contribute items for historic preservation.
Prior to the Fall Festival Weekend, the Town of Davidson will be collecting historic memorabilia. Community members are invited to bring their donations to Town Hall & Community Center (251 South St.) during regular business hours 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. beginning Monday, October 9 through Friday, October 27. Donated items will be on display in the preserved classroom at Town Hall & Community Center during the Fall Festival on Saturday, October 28.
