Clap for our cause. . . Chow down at our Food Fight. . . and enjoy our “Hooray and Play” Day!

1998 was a year of big beginnings yielding big impact: Google was founded; the first Euro coins were minted; the International Space Station was launched… and the Ada Jenkins Center–long treasured as an educational and community hub–was re-dedicated as a nonprofit organization. Mrs. Jenkins’ daughter and granddaughter attended the ceremony.

Twenty-five years later, the Ada Jenkins Center has adapted and changed to address community needs and demands, withstanding a recession, a global pandemic, and shifting economic conditions. All the while remaining true to our mission:  We exist to help people create lasting solutions for economic stability. 

Friday through Sunday (November 3-5), we invite you to celebrate our Silver Anniversary with us at three fun events:

1.  “Applause for a Cause” at Heist Brewery: on Friday, November 3, clap and cheer for our mystery band to earn up to a $15,000 donation from our friends at I-77 Express.(Ride the bus with us!)
2. The popular community Food Fight returns Saturday, November 4, with samples from The Crazy Pig, the Davidson Soda Shop, Much Ado Catering, Whit’s Frozen Custard, Flatiron Kitchen + Tap House, On the Nines, and Courtney Cooks; and beverages from Primal Brewery.(tickets are on sale now). There will be three raffle drawings for prizes worth more than $2,100: Weber gas grill ($1,000 value); Haworth office/desk chair ($1,000 value); Raffaldini Vineyards wine basket ($100 value)
3. Show off your best moves: join us Sunday, November 5 for our “Hooray and Play!” Day — a special “open gym” event that will include food, contests, music and open play in our newly renovated gym. Raffle prize: $50 gift card to Fleet Feet.
