Reminder: Saturday is “Apple Day” at DFM

by | Oct 26, 2023

And you can make pies with some of those apples from the Farmers Market.

Saturday is going to be an Apple Festivous! We will have LOTS of apples for sale because this Saturday is the last week for apples at the DFM. Come and get em! Apples can last six to eight weeks in the fridge! Here are the apples we will have: Pink Ladies; Arkansas Black; King Luscious; and Winesap.

In addition to apple sales, we are going to be selling apple cider, apple crisp, and limited apple T-shirts! We will also have a special guest author Diane Flynt who wrote, Wild, Tamed, Lost, Revived, The Surprising Story of Apples in the South. Even more – we will have an apple inspired chef demo with samples, plus apple face paintings, and prizes for kids costumes. What a day!

Apple Day is just bonus to all of the delicious foods that will be available on Saturday, like fresh goat cheeses and mozzarella, focaccia, sourdough breads and pasta, eggs, honey, cherry, grape and heirloom tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, peppers, microgreens, carrots, broccoli, pumpkins, mushrooms, a variety and abundance of greens, beef, lamb, chicken, sausage, seafood, ready to consume pastries, a food truck, and so much more. If you are a regular shopper than you know what to expect, but if you are new to the DFM, then you must come and see for yourself!
