Conversation and Lunch with Chef Loretta Barrett Oden

As part of Dútα Bαhiisere Kus Ráˀhere (“We Know Corn Together” in Catawba), which is Davidson College’s collaboration with the Catawba Nation, Loretta Barrett Oden (Citizen Potawatomie) will be visiting campus on Nov. 8 for a lunch featuring Indigenous foods and recipes from her book Corn Dance: Inspired First American Cuisine. This event will take place at Vail Commons. For those who have a meal plan, this is a normal swipe. For guests, the cost at the door is $14.94 Lunch will be available between 11 and 2. Chef will speak at 12:30. Staff from the college book store will have her book for sale during the event. Main St. Books also will have copies for sale in advance. Chef will be available to sign books before and after her talk.

This event is sponsored by Davidson College Dining Services, Academic Affairs, the Center for Teaching and Learning, and the Departments of History, Environmental Studies, Anthropology, Biology, and the Humanities Program.

Visitors to campus can purchase lunch for $14. Community participants should RSVP to [email protected].
