Light Those Lights!

by | Dec 11, 2023

Most of us deck our halls in this season, hanging greens and lights to celebrate faith, hope, charity, and love—love of family and love for fellow human and critter.

The trees that recently graced our Village Green sparkled with love, the wellspring of giving—which is also at the heart of this volunteer online news site. News of Davidson went live in 2017 with the conviction that our nonprofit agencies needed a bullhorn, as did local news and the neighborliness we cherish in our town.

We speak and sing and read about joy as winter approaches. Year round, volunteers are hard at work all over Davidson, providing shelter, food, learning, or nurturing faith, planting trees, creating art. The list of care goes on, fueled by the joy of meeting a need.

We do our work at News of Davidson with joy as well. In this season of hope, we are especially thankful for your stories, your time, your ideas, and of course, your gifts, donations that make our work possible. Our small team is notified every single time a gift comes in, be it five dollars or five hundred.

So Happy Holiday! Merry Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Eid al-Fitr…with grateful hearts, we wish you light and joy.
