Volunteers Needed for 2024 Tax Prep Assistance at Ada Jenkins
During the upcoming 2024 Tax Season, the Ada Jenkins Center will host three program sites — in Davidson, Cornelius and Huntersville — for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE).
Programs at the Ada Jenkins Center and Huntersville Library will open starting Saturday February 3 with client appointments available from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Appointments at First Baptist Church of Cornelius, will start Thursday February 8 with client appointments from 5-7 p.m.
Volunteer greeters, interpreters, and tax preparers are needed at all locations and, per Internal Revenue Service policy, must become certified by completing the required training. Volunteers will assist neighbors with incomes of $60,000 or less prepare their taxes for free.
In 2022 Ada Jenkins Center VITA volunteers assisted 173 households, saving them a total of $43,250 in tax preparation fees.
